The Studio

Our studio, situated in the picturesque seaside suburb of Largs Bay, features an Equipment Room furnished with our beautifully handcrafted Australian-made Pilates equipment. Our Mat Room is thoughtfully arranged so clients can attend classes without needing to bring any equipment—mats are provided, along with a variety of small tools to ensure every mat class remains engaging and varied. The studio is air-conditioned for your comfort, and each class incorporates Kindred Self essential oils, music, and mindfulness techniques. We kindly ask that you bring your own socks to wear and avoid wearing clothing with zips during class.

Clair Holmes - Owner

Clair's passion for movement began early, starting her journey as a dance teacher at just 14. With a natural blend of creativity and discipline, she later built a strong foundation in business management before transitioning into Pilates over 11 years ago.

Clair holds a nationally recognised Diploma of Pilates through the Polestar Comprehensive method, with qualifications across both mat work and full studio rehab equipment Pilates. Clair has a special interest in rehabilitation and is also trained in the Tupler Technique, a structured exercise program designed to treat Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation).

Over the years, Clair has developed a deep appreciation for the way Pilates supports both mobility and strength, and how it can meet each individual exactly where they are - at any stage of life. Separately, Clair has also trained as a Barre instructor - a dynamic, fitness-based fusion of ballet and mat work Pilates and was recognised in 2019 as SA's Best Instructor for her Barre teaching.

Clair’s teaching is warm, super smiley, and welcoming, with a genuine focus on creating an inclusive space where everybody feels comfortable, supported and confident in their movement.

As the owner of Seaside Pilates, Clair is dedicated to creating a space that feels welcoming, supportive, and deeply community-focused. Guided by her belief that life is about movement and connection, she honours the foundation Chantell created, while continuing to grow the studio’s story.

A Semaphore local and Taurian, loves the beach, life as Mum to August and Molly-May, being apart of their community sports and creative projects!

Chantell Murphy

Chantell has been teaching Pilates for 17 years. She trained and obtained her Diploma of Pilates Therapy and instruction with Leanne Mollison of Queen Street Pilates. Chantell also has a Diploma of Remedial Massage and Yin Yog training and started her career path as a Registered Nurse.

Chantell has a keen interest in anatomy and the way a body moves. She is a hands-on instructor and wants her clients to move to the best of their ability and to take that strength in movement into their lives outside the studio.

Chantell has a genuine care for people and an empathetic understanding of the unique way each individual moves through the world.

Chantell brings her dog Joni, a little kelpie to class (see Joni's profile below!) Often breaks into dance, talks about food a lot, is a keen whistler, ocean swimmer and a Cancerian.

Stephanie Cibich

With a background in the arts and a degree in Nutrition, Steph chose to follow her passion for health and wellbeing after personally experiencing the physical and spiritual benefits of Pilates. Since completing her Mat and Equipment instructor training at Queen St Pilates Studio, she has had the privilege of working with clients of varying ages and backgrounds. Steph continues to enjoy witnessing the many ways Pilates can enhance quality of life.

Committed to providing effective and enjoyable classes, she challenges her clients with controlled movements and correct alignment to improve body awareness, posture, flexibility, and overall strength.

Steph is a Sagittarius, wife and mother, and was born and raised in the western suburbs of Adelaide.

Shannon Jamieson

Shannon’s journey to Pilates began after a knee injury sustained during netball, which led her to try her first Pilates class—and she fell in love immediately. She appreciates the inclusiveness of Pilates, believing that anyone, regardless of level or goal, can benefit from the practice.

Shannon completed her teacher training through Leanne Mollison at Tensegrity Training, earning her qualification in 2021. “It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she says.

Her classes strike a balance between relaxed and challenging, always accompanied by her trademark laugh. Shannon remains curious about the many ways we can move our bodies and brings this enthusiasm to every session.

Oh, and by the way - Shannon is a Scorpio!

Melanie Allen

Melanie brings a wealth of experience to her Pilates practice, with a background that began during her time at Dance College in London. Pilates quickly became a constant throughout her professional dance career, which saw her preforming across Europe and the USA on tours and residencies.

Following her time in dance, Melanie chose to deepen her focus on Pilates, completing her first Diploma in the UK, followed by a second through Polestar Internation in Sydney, and most recently a third with Pilates International Training Centre (ITC). As a Trainer and Assessor, she has since gone on to become an Educator with ITC, mentoring and supporting aspiring Pilates Instructors.

While working in a clinical Pilates Studio in Sydney, Melanie was inspired by clients navigating injuries and physical challenges, leading her to further her understanding of human movement and rehabilitation. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Myotherapy at Endeavour College, graduating with the highest result in her year and delivering the graduation speech.

Melanie practises as a Myotherapist in West Lakes, bringing a highly informed, hands-on understanding of the body into her Pilates teaching.

Her approach is grounded, knowledgeable, supportive, with a strong focus on helping clients move well and feel their best.

Now based in Semaphore, Melanie enjoys the relaxed SA pace of life with her husband, their 2 children and their pup... And shes a pisces.

Joni

Joni is Chantell’s dog who comes to Pilates and sits (mostly) in her bed by the front door. Joni is still learning as she is a youngster, but she’s starting to be a little more chilled than when she first started!

Joni loves pats, is wary of the postie, loves pig ears and is a Virgo.
